The ways of the warrior are an interplay between (fight)sports, nutrition, and mental fitness.
You won’t read simply what to do here – there’s plenty of that around already. Rather, you’ll learn concepts of how you can approach the various components of martial arts: physical training, mental practice, and taking care of your nutritional needs.
Of course, you’ll get key tricks to fighting techniques, useful tweaks to your diet, and ways to approach the mind game. These are useful for any modern day warrior. However, the focus is on giving you the tools to train, practice, and play around on your own. Only when you find a way to integrate new concepts into your life, you’ll automatically do the right things when you’re under pressure.
- That’s the muscle memory you need during a fight
- That’s the healthy habit you need when you’re tired and hungry
- That’s the mental fortitude you need when everything goes south and things get scary
While this blog’s emphasis is on Muay Thai Kickboxing (my current martial art), most concepts translate to other martial arts and explosive sports like fitness and CrossFit too. In the past I’ve also trained Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) / Grappling, and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
